Around the World: AMPP, Carboline Host Opening Reception

Coatings in the Spotlight at 2023 AMPP Conference + Expo
Held by the Association of Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP), the 2023 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo includes a number of potentially significant events for contractors and other professionals throughout the coatings industry. This week, AMPP's flagship annual event is taking place at the Colorado Convention Center.

AMPP Names Alan Thomas as New CEO, Starting in April
AMPP, a global nonprofit representing more than 32,000 members in the materials, corrosion, and coatings industries, has announced the selection of Alan Thomas as its new chief executive officer. He takes over as CEO effective April 1 and will be present throughout this week’s conference in Denver.

The “Coatings 101 Workshop,” the “Proper Use of Coatings Inspection Instruments Workshop,” and the “Corrosion and Green Energy” forum are among the many learning opportunities being offered Sunday at the 2023 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo.
AMPP Hosts Darrel D. Byerley Memorial Golf Tournament
At Sunday’s annual Darrel D. Byerley Memorial Golf Tournament, players can enjoy a relaxing day of golf to kick off their conference week. The event also allows for networking with other attendees while taking in the panorama of Denver’s downtown skyline.
The first-day symposia list includes sessions such as “Measurement and Simulation of Atmospheric Corrosion Through Modeling and Controlled Exposures”; “Mineral Scales: Causes, Cases, and Control”; and “Performance of Galvanic Anodes and Galvanic Cathodic Protection Systems in Reinforced Concrete Infrastructure.”
