Bob Chalker on His Retirement and AMPP’s Path Forward
Bob Chalker, CEO of AMPP, discusses his decision to retire in July 2023 and what the path forward looks like for our corrosion control and protective coatings organization.
Topics include the motivations for his decision; the process of naming a replacement; highlights from Chalker’s 13-year tenure at AMPP and NACE International; and the legacy he leaves behind.
Sterling Martin Associates of Washington, DC, has been selected to conduct the search for its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The AMPP Search Committee, appointed by the AMPP Board of Directors, chose the firm based on its association recruitment focus and its track record of placing quality candidates, including its placement of AMPP’s current CEO, Robert Chalker, who has announced his retirement effective July 2023.
On August 11, 2022, AMPP launched its Author Interview Series. The series consists of webinars that provide authors and AMPP the opportunity to discuss the genesis of AMPP-published books, as well as the technology that drives them. The webinars also offer the opportunity for attendees—both members and non-members, domestic and international—to interact with, and ask questions of—authors writing about topics that meet their needs. The first in the series focused on Ali Morshed and his upcoming book A Practical Guide to Microbiological Influenced Corrosion in the Oil & Gas Sector, with the second occurring on November 29 featuring Drs. Roger Francis and Abdelkader Meroufel talk about their book, Corrosion Control in Desalination Plants.
