Celebrating World Corrosion Awareness Day
To remind us and others that ‘rust never sleeps,’ we will recognize World Corrosion Awareness Day on April 24. International corrosion associations address corrosion prevention and control measures on this day annually and promote sustainable development practices.
AMPP plans to recognize this important day to further its mission of “advancing materials performance to protect society, assets, and the environment.” With help from our international member community, AMPP chapters from around the world, and AMPP staff, we will flood social media with content about the impact corrosion plays in society, careers in corrosion, and corrosion prevention.
Get Involved with World Corrosion Awareness Day
You can get involved, too! Beginning tomorrow, AMPP will kick off a campaign called “Corrosion in Everyday Life.” We are calling on you to share images of corrosion you see around town via your social media channels. Flood Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and even TikTok with corrosion images using the tags #AMPPWCAD and #CorrosionInEverydayLife, and the phrases “Let’s Prevent Corrosion!” or “Help Stop Corrosion Before it Starts.” Make sure to include the location of where your photos are taken.

Moving into Retirement but Still Want to Keep Your Certification?
The AMPP Malaysia Chapter hosted a technical talk session on “Preventative Maintenance” by Mr. Dylan Lee Chee Kian at the Grand Dorset, Kuala Lumpur. One of the highlights of the session was the introduction of a new technology known as “Covallox”, which is considered revolutionary to the solvent-free epoxy world. In this picture, Mr. Dylan Lee was presented with a token of appreciation from Ms. Nurul Asni, Legacy NACE EAPA Chairman.
AMPP has introduced a new Area structure to support communication and collaboration between its Chapters, Membership Program Committee (MPC), and Headquarters. The structure consists of ten Areas across the world, with each Area Task Force led by a Chair and consisting of delegates from each Chapter within the Area. The collaboration will provide an additional means of communication between Chapters, MPC, and AMPP Headquarters to ensure all members are getting the most benefit they possibly can out of their AMPP membership. The structure will benefit AMPP members regionally and reinvigorate its Chapters, bringing even more opportunities for career connections and advancement to members in their local community.
