Member Motivations | An interview with Nicole Zafris, Technical Program Committee Member:

Zafris_Nicole_6-8-23 (1)

What motivated you to join a program committee?

I thought it was a great way to give back, and I was lucky enough to have a wonderful mentor who was able to provide a lot of knowledge transfer. I felt like getting involved was the way to make sure that transfer of knowledge and information would continue.

What do you enjoy/find most valuable about being on a program committee?

The global networking aspect that I would not have previously been able to access; taking from that expertise is invaluable.

If there are members or volunteers looking to get more involved with AMPP, what would you recommend to them?

Definitely reach out to technical committees or anyone involved with standards to see if any roles need to be filled. It’s good to familiarize yourself with the AMPP website and online discussions, follow up if there is something you want to do or learn, ask around at the conference, and make it known you want to be involved.
