Grand Opening Ceremony Planned for 2024 Exhibit Hall
Following CoatingsPro Magazine’s Contractor Awards program and ribbon cutting ceremony, AMPP’s 2024 Exhibit Hall will officially open on Monday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. local time. As part of the Expo Grand Opening, attendees and exhibitors will have an opportunity to interact over drinks and hors d’oeuvres, with drink tickets provided at registration.
After a long day of technical sessions and networking, SYP Unplugged offers students and under-30 professionals a chance to unwind alongside peers and select industry leaders. Saints and Sinners, located on Bourbon St., is the host. With a casual atmosphere, Monday's event has music, food and drink, prizes, and even indoor mini-golf.
AMPP Announces Winners of 2024 Diversity and Inclusion Grants
As the global authority in its field, AMPP recently unveiled the recipients of its third annual Diversity and Inclusion Grants. These grants, a cornerstone of AMPP's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion within the corrosion and coatings industry, support members of historically excluded and intentionally marginalized populations.
GPI Leaders Go Back to Basics in Coatings 101 Workshop
In one of the opening presentations of this week’s AMPP conference, GPI’s Chris Farschon, PCS, and Charles Brown, PCS, offered an overview of protection strategies against steel corrosion as part of Sunday’s interactive Coatings 101 Workshop.

Monday’s symposiums at the 2024 AMPP Annual Conference + Expo include topics such as “Implementing Successful Material Sustainability and Material Stewardship Practices,” “Mechanisms of Localized Corrosion,” and “Facilities Integrity and Process Safety.”
The AMPP Bookstore setup aims to make all purchases smooth and seamless. Featuring best-selling books and beyond, the store provides guests the option to shop and buy from AMPP’s entire catalog via an interactive kiosk, allowing for delivery to a home or office.

Monday’s AMPP forums feature sessions including “Inspection of Intumescent Coatings,” “AC & DC Interference: Panel Discussion,” “Reducing Car Corrosion in the Brine Treatment of Winter Roads,” and “Case History from Four Viewpoints.”
AMPP announced a generous donation from the PPG Foundation for its EMERG programs, which support students in the coatings industry. This contribution supports the expansion and development of programs designed to foster education and innovation.
